Looking for class 4 laser safety eyewear and a barrier. The laser operates at 1070nm.
Always consult your on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for specific guidance. Required optical density (OD) and laser safety personal protective equipment (PPE) are determined based on worst-case scenarios and require professional judgment. All laser safety equipment provided is intended for diffused beam viewing only. To do a minimum optical density calculation we will need to know a few more parameters about the laser (or the required optical density provided by the laser manufacturer). Two common options are the following:1) Our 125 filter that provides an OD 5+ at 1070nm marked as an OD 5+ @ 855-1085nm2) Our 205 filter that provides an OD 7+ at 1070nm marked with an OD 7+ @ 1000-1600nm - this is the stronger protection
As for barriers the wavelength is not important but instead the power of the laser. We off barriers with 200W/cm^2 for 100 seconds and 300W/cm^2 for 100 seconds. For our laser safety barriers page, please see here.
